There are five families that make up the new world monkeys (Parvorder: Platyrrhini):

    2. squirrel monkeys (Saimiri sciureus)
  3. Aotidae
    1. Night (Owl) Monkeys (Aotus lemurinus zonalis)
  4. Pitheciidae
    1. titis (Callicebus toppini)
    2. sakis (Pithecia pithecia)
    3. uakaris (Cacajao calvus ucayalii)
  5. Atelidae
    1. spider monkeys (Ateles marginatus)
    2. Howler monkeys (Alouatta caraya)
    3. woolly spider monkeys (Brachyteles hypoxanthus)
    4. woolly monkeys (Lagothrix lagotricha)
